I'll have some coldies in the fridge for you when you arrive Yup. See you there. I can't wait.

(Please red thumb as much as possible. Gloating should be discouraged amongst this fraternity).

I'm at Sydney airport about to fly to Maui. I rang the shop to confirm my hire gear. They said, "dude best week ever. You will need nothing bigger than a 5.0. And there are waves galore!!"

Life is good

Day 1

12 windsurfers at this year's aloha clinic. A good mix of levels. Girls and guys.

i met mike (hi mike), Chris from hood river and a lady from bamuda.

Together we are all aiming for forward loops. Plenty of wind and waves. And most likely plenty of excuses.

today i was on a 5.1 with a 96l board. All powered up. Man I'm sore. 5 hours of wave sailing takes it out of you.

oops. Sorry. You are all at work aren't you?

did I mention the water is really warm

Hey yuppy whats the theory behind using such a big board? Your only a light weight right?

Last couple of times in Maui I only needed an 80L board max

Hi jman

last year I met Levi silver the week before he won the aloha classic at Hookipa. He rides an 85l board. Most pros ride about 5 or 10 litres more than their body weight in the waves. I'm taking their lead.

The local town is paia. Excellent food.

This is is a typical building. It's not flash but has a very chilled out vibe.

That looks awful. You poor guy.

If you were in Sydney you could have experienced heaps more wind this last day. You missed out!

My hands are in much better shape this year. I discovered you can by antibiotic cream in Safeway! Awesome stuff. I put it on each night. Lots of band aids.

my second forward loop still alludes me. We had a none plane day yesterday so it was all about light wind wave sailing.

today the forecast looks perfect for forwards. Fingers crossed. Balls enlarging. Heart rate rising.
