when you live only 5 mins from the water in WA

Who needs to rush

I'm with you Elmo but 5 min is a bit too far! then try this for Saturday 23-02-08.

4.45am alarm sounds
5.00 am depart for Sandy Point after a quick breakfast.
8.45am arrive Sandy Point.
10.15am hit the water after pffaffing around for a whole hour and a half trying to decide what sail to rig, which board to use, which wetsuit to wear etc etc etc.
10.45am make it back to shore (swimming) having made wrong choice in a,b,c, etc.
10.55am try again with different setup.
11.05am trash stuff
11.30am make it back to shore (swimming) to replace trashed sail.
12.15pm finally (sort of but not really) get down the speed run on a small sail in the dying wind,
12.45pm arrive back at carpark from a long walk upwind.
1.00 pm gear unrigged send text to wife "Gear trashed, spirit broken!"
1.01pm receive text "I will restore your spirit darling"
1.02pm head for home -Spirit restoration sounds good!
4.40pm arrive home
4.44pm exit the shower, anounce to wife that I am ready for spirit restoration.
4.45pm told to f*** off if I thought that that was what spirit restoration involved!
12 hours precisely, 595 km driving, stuff all windsurfing, but Chris Lockwood sure had a good day.

Hey does anyone keep a triple pulley on a hook thingey threaded onto their downhaul rope, to save time threading the rope through all the pulleys you can just hook the hook onto the sail clew. I've thought about this but looking in sailing shops can only find ones too big. This would save me heaps of time in winter, trying to thread rope with cold fingers.

Yep I have one on each mast extension. Also I replaced the sewn in pulley with a shackle on a couple of Neil Pryde sails so they can be used with the hook pulley. Also have an extension and boom set up for each sail so they are all ready adjusted.

I seen a guy at lake catharaba open his garage walk across the road with his already rigged kit and was on the water in 30secs, i was pretty envious.

Theres a guy on the Gold Coast sails at the train, who has a check list and tape measure, i have seen him take so long that the coinditions have changed by the time hes rigged and he has to de rig and change sails, and on it goes.

I got them from Windsurfing Perth but I've seen them elsewhere. They will post them to you. PS I use a 4 sheeve pulley for a bit more purchase.
