How do Dakine twist control devices work?

Hi, does anyone know how these Dakine footstrap twist control things work? I thought I saw it mentioned on here somewhere but I couldn't find it anywhere.

They are just plastic washers that fit into some stainless steel plates. I don't understand how this is supposed to stop the straps twisting.

Any ideas?

Hi mate. iam not sure if this is it or not but my 08 Futura has Dakine straps and they have this plastic washer that has a tag (keyway) on one side that fit into a slot on the board as well as both sides of the washer have 4 or 5 plastic spikes that grip into the fish scale deck grip and the footstrap when screw is tightnend.
Never had a problem so far with my footstraps twisting.

Not sure tho if this is what your asking about..

The plastic bit clamps onto the end of the strap and it holds the end of the strap rigid by a couple of pins and the screw through the middle.

You screw the bolt into the board and friction and the little spikes on the bottom hold it tight to the grip.

The end of the strap can move by a few degrees but the whole end can't twist around. It's not necessary if you have two bolts to hold the end of your strap down.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if they rely on something in the board, but from the look of it, they are just providing a bit more clamping force.

Stone, I have other ones similar to the one's that you are talking about that bite into the padding, but these are different. They don't have any teeth to bite into anything.

Gorgo, thanks for the explanation. I thought that's how they must work, but I hoped there was a better way. I guess I will try them and see. Maybe the extra force spread through the plates holds it down better?
