How bad is using a 32 base when the base should be >34 cm?

I have a 32cm RDM mast base.
Now I consider buying a sail which needs a 34 cm base. Might the 32 cm do, or what might be the limit?

You probably need more than 34 as you cannot get pulley to pulley contact and masts can vary a little. Do not do it
