Is it couch? Doesn't look like buffalo. Have you thought of a dethatch? Maybe just a heavy rake before winter?

I like it Shifu. How long does the heat shrink last? I find that mmelting formuline rope ends doesn't last long.

Have you tried wrapping end of rope with tape and then burning/melting? Works for me.

Queensland Fish Couch. It's the rigging zone at my home beach. Maitainence is up to the council.
My last experience with a dethatch was in Tokyo ... oops! Can't tell you that story!

That's been on all season. Use a 30mm length and it really helps threading through the blocks.

I used the big size to regrip the boom. But it's too slippery when wet for the areas where you grab it.

Whoops sorry, the OP wasn't exactly overflowing with detail. I don't end up with tape on the rope, it just helps to get a neat end..

You inspired me to go and burn the end of my downhaul lines last night. Stretchy is right that formula line doesn't burn/melt like most rope. Still managed a little plasticky end. Formula line must have a higher amount of cotton or something?

I dipped mine in Kwik Grip. That worked.

I dip mine in epoxy and then shape it while it's still malleable. But the heat shrink is a great idea, thanks.
