It's not every day as an average Australian windsurfer you get to be out on the (24+ degree) water for a great freeride session while watching Antoine Albeau and some other guys & gals warm up for the next PWA World Cup event

!
For anyone who has a spare few days and dollars next week - the Noumea Dream Cup/World Cup event is on next week in New Caledonia- starting 18/11/2014 and there are some other amateur races on before (I think starting 15/11/14). Under 3 hours from Sydney and Brisbane so pretty much at our doorstep (for those on the east coast).
The official link is:
bureauvalleedreamcup.nc/ The only thing is that the beach will be closed for normal windsurfing and they tell me the hire places will close down during the World Cup. So, it would be more watching than participating while the event is on. But the local sailors are super friendly and there is great French food and wine to be had. Not to mention the beautiful pacific island climate which will ensure that your stinky French cheese is truly stinky!
Bit last minute but I didn't know the event was on until I arrived here for a work trip and thought it worth giving people a heads up just in case anyone has the time and dosh to go.
