I have a Serverne Lux waist harness. I am happy with it, but a lot of times during a session, I have to pull on the straps to pull the harness hook back in. Does anyone else have this kind of problem with their harness and how do you fix it?

After trying to see what buckle system it is from their video's I'd say that they probably use a ladder lock for the straps. If so make sure that once tight, the excess webbing should then go back over the top of the buckle and poke it through the last slot on the buckle.

Put up a few pix if you can of the webbing going through the buckles and we might have a clearer picture of things.

I have a Mystic , comfy and doesn't ride up , but the smaller bottom straps also slip . It does give me the ****s . Its easy enough to give a tug and tighten whilst in the harness and planing but it shouldn't happen . Need to adjust about every half hour . The bottom straps should also be as big as the top ones . I think they have more pull than the top straps .

yep, I found my ancient DaKine doing it last session, just changed to my spare even older harness. Both are looking fairly tatty my fix it by buying a new one. But I guess the plastic clamp has been worn and no longer grips, haven't had a good look to figure out what the problem is.
It's a real pain when it becomes so loose you can no longer unhook

I think that is it. I could not even think of the name of the plastic doohickey. Technology huh, I used my phone to take a picture of the buckle and then ali express showed me a list of products. Yeah ladder lock.

Next session I will make it nice and tight, undo the release and then slide the webbing back through the last slot. I Will report back with some hopefully positive news.
I have been thinking about this problem for over 2 weeks and as soon as I posted it on seabreeze my brain unfogged and I could think of how to search for an answer. I was almost about to get out some needle and thread and just sew the bugger together.

I have a Flying Objects seat harness and all the straps were slipping since new.
The leg straps constantly need to be pulled back. Can't fix it in place as it needs to be loosened every time I have to remove the harness.

The buckle is not the ladder type, instead have "teeth" which should lock the strap. It's burried half into a sleeve, so the strap cannot be set as in the video. The strap end is rolled and stiched so wouldn't go through anyway.
I just live with that, but will not buy another harness with that kind of a buckle.

But if someone comes with a solution...

you could clean and dry the straps and then coat one, or both, sides of the strap with a thin layer of Weldwood contact cement, that should soak into the strap, then let dry completely before letting it touch anything (24 hr), that will give the buckle something to grip onto. Maybe try one side and see if that gives enough grip before doing the otherside. Weldwood contact cement is flexible and does not come off in saltwater.

Tie a stop knot?

How about a few drops of superglue n bi carb on the toothed edge of buckle where the strap goes over? Build or roughen this area for more friction.

Photos? Can you loop the belts once more back in?

Once the strap is pulled tight, this can't be done, too tight around the leg, also, the strap end is rolled and is too thick to go through.

I do this with the strap that holds the hook down, but can't be done on the leg.
Gets very tight, and not long enough.

The contact cement and/or superglue suggestions are interesting. May try that. Thanks.

Have the same issue with my Severne harness. I'm almost at the point of sewing them in place but then when I get back into my winter suit there's no chance it will fit.
Severne adjustable harness lines do the same.

Then maybe the way it's looped can be bettered? What does the manufacturer say?

I got very sick of my Severn seat harness doing this, the best way I've found is tighten it to what I want, release, make a sort of loop of the loose end on each strap and knot over its self. Then put it back on. Have to redo this if going from wearing wet suit to boardies or back, or after too many lock down bevvies. Still not perfect, but has made unhooking a lot better. Didn't realise it's apparently a common problem.

you could also try sewing bar tacks across the straps where you want the buckle to lock, would give the buckle something to lock onto, just depends if you can get the strap position into a sewing machine while attached to the harness, but could always hand stitch it with thick thread.
