I recently got a used Goya skinny carbon boom. The head of it is too loose and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this head off so I can put a shim in there to tighten it up. The boom only has two screws that run vertical on each side. They have zero impact on the ability of taking the boom head off. I'm really at a loss cause I need to get this head off at least moved to the side some how so I can get in there and put a shim in there somehow. Any suggestions or experience doing this? Thanks,

Usually you need to pry the boom-head open, after you have removed the two screws. It is shaped like a "C-clamp".

Unfortunately, even after taking the two screws out the boom head cannot be pulled off because behind the spot where the mast slides in and this is actually going behind the shim that you could take on or off for skinny mast , It appears to be attached to the head so there's no way to just pry it off . Not really quite sure how they even built this thing. I would have a picture showing what I'm talking about but unfortunately, I can't. I'm a new user on the site.

I don't have a Goya boom myself, but the C-part usually interlocks with the part that goes against the mast, so once you open the C-part enough it should all come apart.

These are the same head used on many brands for a long time, so any variation would not be much,

If the "mast bit" won't come off, logically it comes off once you started to pry it open as Kris says, or there is a screw under the rubber protector bit (that usually comes off easy)

But sorry to state the obvious, after you remove the two long bolts in step 1 - you are removing the swinging part.....?

One bolt is for swinging part that lines hooks up too the other is for the clamp that is used for that part when snugging onto mast .
inside the backside of c part that front of past connects to there is a hole but nothing there for a screw driver can connect to .

The RDM Adapter ist just clipped in at the Goya booms. After you have snaped it out you usally have to apply a little force to get the clamp open to release it from the tube. Maye use a big srewdriver or something likewise.
I did this once some years ago and laminated a layer of glass around the tube, to get a lasting shim that doesn't wear down the tube even more like e. g. a piece of thin sheet metal.

Inside the c shaped connection that the mast shim goes in , is a small hole but nothing there to unscrew to use a screw driver or anything to get it off in order for the boom head to be moved or removed to put a shim on boom tube. I would show pic but I am still to new in this forum for it to allow me to attach it

You need to remove both screws and the plastic parts (the two movable flaps) that they are holding. Then pry the clamp open.

In one of the pics I have on my profile it shows the inside of the c shaped part without skinny mast shim in it . It shows a small circle indent which I am unsure what is however The head will not come off unless this c shaped piece is removed . This is the biggest obstacle in removing head

I've looked at your photos. The small circle indent has nothing to do with removing the head. Boom heads are tricky to remove, but can be done easily enough. You just have to follow SurferKris' advice.
- Remove the RDM adaptor. It might need a light tap to remove.
- Remove both long bolts
- Remove the hand lever and boom clamp. There is an interference fit so you will have to use a flat screwdriver to pry the C - section of the remaining head apart to do this
- Once everything is removed, use the screwdriver to again to pry open the main C - section and remove off the boom.

Have you tried looking on Google for instruction? Type in " how to remove boom head from goya windsurfing boom" and check out AI Overview. It describes the process and provides a link to video.

Remove the nuts and the bolts actually pull the long bolts out., pull of the shim, remove the lever but by prizing it apart at the cracks/joins where it swivels once this bit is off you will be able to prize the head off. You will have to put a fair bit of effort in to open it up so it can be removed. If you still cant work it out take it to a windsurf shop.
