What is the best way to stop the lens from fogging, do the anti fog stripes work

Anti fog things work great
Or a few grains of rice work well too.

anti fog strips, best $15 you can spend!!

Small bit of tissue at the back fo the cam.... works everytime... why spend $15???

Just before closing w/p case put in front of cold air-conditioning vent of car for about 30 seconds.

What about keeping water off the lens?? Rainx works ok and just licking the lens works better. Any other ideas? seems to all ways have a little spot of water, even when the lens is clean and no scratches.

Still remember the foggy lens episode Snags, works well hey, if only I had aircon in my old banger, I use the antifog strips and they seem to work well

I use some cut up pieces of old dry chamois that works well to stop fogging. I have been getting some droplets stuck on the outside of my lens I will try licking it thanks for the tip.
I am amazed how many people are buying them I thought I was one of a few who has one. The quality of close up pictures blows me away I am happy I got mine.
They need to have a zoom lens they are only good for close up videos also GoPro needs to come up with something that stops fogging but I don't know how cause its case is sealed other wise they are a top little camera.
For there size you can't ask too much I guess.

I was at the shop yesterday,getting a tube mount and they said that the fogging happens because the case heated up and then gets water on it and cools, this with the camera heating up due to operation it fogs. Like you said Glynn great camera. As for izaak I thought you would be going too fast for water to stay on the lens.

The anti-fog inserts are very good but work best if you seal them inside the unit a few hours before going near the water. I get mine ready the night before and it will film till the card is full without a problem. If I change a battery or cards at the beach the case will start to fog up again after a short period, I'll have to try the air-con trick. If you are using the LCD screen this does increase the chances of it fogging due to the heat it generates, Have it set so that it turns off after a few seconds. As for the spot on the lens, rain-x is all I use and it usually lasts until the card is full, I apply several coats allowing it to dry in between.

In QLD summer, even with 3 totally dried out anti-fog strips inside I still have problems with it fogging. I think the extra humidity here is the issue. Pre warming up the camera, and as someone else mentioned, holding it briefly in front of the car aircon, seems to do the trick for me. Winter seems to be fine.

Got the anti fog stripes and tried them out today was an overcast day and the camera was put through tough test spent some time in the water and out didn't fog up at all after an hour, will wait and try on a sunny day.

Man these GoPros fog up easy I did 20 new vids yesterday but forgot my Chamois & it fogged up the whole time I had to delete them all.

Glynno, just use the strips, dry them in the oven and go from there straight into the case with your freshly charged camera, do that every time, do it the night before or earlier but do it. It doesn't get much more tropical than here, I can use the camera mid summer wet season in and out of very cold creek/rivers with no drama, never ever once since I got onto the strips

The amount of innovation used by these guys to incorporate 3D tech on and in the water was amazing.

PhilSWR the sail was a 6.7 RS Slalom and the wind was 20 to 25 kts.
Dezza the board was a F2 stoke 126 2006
used the anti fog stripes and it didn't fog up at all after an hour and a half of use

Thank Mux. Didn't even notice the board- yet I'm the proud owner of an F2 Stoke as well. Mine's 116 lt and fair flys, even with only a 5.2 sail in sub 20 knts of wind. A bigger sail is definitly on the list though.
