Just replaced my Futura with a later model Carve, so as a tribute to the ol' girl, here's the last blast she had at Trial Bay. Hope you enjoy the clip

Great clip Phil, super clear and clean water. Had a blast sailing there in a southerly back in the 90's with some awesome runs from under the jail over towards town.
Then sat back with a few beers and watched the hammerheads patrolling the shallows. Your lucky with such a sweet spot.

Hey Marty, it's definitely still a great place, make sure you head down this spring for a blast. Keen to have a sail with you.

KA43 (Larko?), I haven't sailed here much in a southerly but a few guys that have and say it's a good blast across to the Horseshoe. As for the sharks, if I don't see one, they're not there.

Always keen Phil but hard to find time between work and family commitments. Really want to make it sooner rather than later.

Hey Phil
I know its off topic but next trip am heading to SWR with my caravan.
Can u recomend a caravan park thats handy.?
Just my girl and my w/s gear so dont need a theme park.
Hoping the wind will be there and maybe even meet u on water.
Cheers
Do you guys use slalom gear as well .?

Hey mate, the best park for being close to the action is the one right at Trial Bay Gaol. Most windsurfers up this way stay there. There's others in town too, and none are more than 2 kays from Trial Bay.

Think spring / summer if you want fun nor-easters (like in the clip)

Some guys have used slalom gear here, but it gets pretty bumpy any distance out. Free-ride or bump & jump gear is the go.

If there's any breeze over 10 knots I'll be out there, so no probs catching up for a sail.

I stayed at the Gaol a couple of weeks ago, you are camping on windsurfing location. It blew southwesterly which wasnt the best though. Very gusty.
Beautiful spot, living with the roos
