After work sail, easily powered at Manly on the 5.3 + 92L FSW. Got pretty windy towards the end, should have brought my 75L board, woulda been perfect (and a smaller sail... if only I owned one). Only one other guy out on 5.0 + 86L board.

Where was everyone else? First decent wind in a fortnight... thought there would be more people out.

oh haha, I thought you meant you yelled at me

Yeah Manly is my local . I think wello has an epic trek to the water at low tide, thou in return Manly has the stairs... they build character. I remember I think it was first time I sailed manly, howling 25kt SE'er, was carrying my kit up the stairs in the wind shadow, got to the top, caught off balance by a gust and fell backwards all the way down to the bottom. Like I said... character building

I couldn't believe that people would actually launch from the stairs when I went there the first time... I had to do the sissy thing and disconnect my board and sail

where? I usually go to manly cause it only takes just over 30 minutes from my place... anywhere else and its quicker to drive down to the gold coast... nicer too, not a big fan of mud.

I don't mind manly actually ... rarely a crowd... no kiters... the stairs aren't really an issue if you can carry your kit. My first time was bad cause at that stage I had only been windsurfing I think maybe 2-3 months, could barely hang onto my kit carrying it lol.

Neither spots great at low tide wellos not too bad on the eastern side.
I walked those stairs and rocks at manly for many years lots of dinged boards and scatched sails.

i usually drive to goldy if it's low tide in brisbane.

yes vando your right there. i wasn't thinking of that side of wello though.

i figured the walk down the boat ramp and across mud, rocks and crap excluded it since we are talking sand launch spots.

in my mind manly and wello boat ramp are just as bad as each other. why launch in htose spots when there are sand beaches to launch from.
