Is there a easy way to pull the 11m and 12m sails out of the water, when uphauling. Saw somewhere where you can use your harness is this easier ?

Hunch,

Get, or make, an easyuphaul. You can google it and see how it works.
Basically it is a loop attached to your uphaul that you can put in your harness hook so that when you lean back your weight helps lift the sail from the water.

Absolutely invaluable IMHO,

Swim/paddle the sail perpendicular to the wind, then lift the mast up until the wind blows the sail up.... Good thing about a Formula board is that you don't have to get wet as it can all be done while still on the board....Too easy.

You can weight the windward side of the board to lever the mast out of the water. Could damage the board though.

Dont do this... The skin on Formula boards, are very thin (aka light-weight) - if your uphaul rope has any knots in it, as most of them do, you stand a high risk of puncturing the board (taken from personal experience).

the way i was shown was if your sail was point into the wind .. standing with one foot just behind the mast base and the other foot imbetween the front straps lean back and try to pull the sail up the tail of the board will sink a bit but eh .. if ya can hold that for 30secs or so the wind will spin ya around and then uphaul like normal?
