Has anyone got some feed back on the Flying objects roller windsurf bag ?

I am am looking for a replacement bag for taking my kit to Maui. Usually take one wave board , one boom, three sails and two masts and have always just jammed it into a np 245/65 board bag but after the last two trips this is looking alot worse for wear ( bloody rough baggage handlers ) and admittidily is quite difficult to move around with no wheels and one shoulder strap.
With Air NZ now limiting us to 250cm long and 23kg these appeal to me for size and weight but I will have to order one so would like to know people's thoughts on construction, durability, design etc

1 boom
3 sails
1 mast , extension , base
Harness ,wetsuit.
And does it easy

It fit exactly what you are after, plus harnes, wetsuit, base, etc. On top of this, you can also put you board inside a regular bag to give more protection. There is also a great internal pocket for find and a screw driver.
I used to use an oversized bag also - hard work, you won't know yourself with a FO roller bag.

what a corker of a product, Q? for those that have used to it fly ...must get pretty tight on the 30kg limit with everything on board?

One for Flying Objects... any chance of an 'in between size' ? Wave size is spot on, the race is pretty big for smaller Slalom or Freeride/race kit.

yer I have flow with one a couple of times, I had a wave board, boom, , mast, 2 sails and base/extension and my harness and it was about 23kgs

Web site says 5.8kg for web edition.

in contrast the Neil Pryde triple bag whith wheels is 6.9 kgs

Every time I go to Maui I just take my harness, that's it.
I love renting the newer equipment, newer than my own, costwise not much different than taking your own stuff, and no risk to your own stuff.
It's just too easy, and you can swap out stuff as much as you like, different board, different quiver, no problem.

as mastbender said - maui has the best rental setiup for windsurfing there is = $300 or so for a week for full kit of the latest boards and sails.
you can swap gear on a daily basis to suit.

go hire and try out difference brands

I've got both the NP 245x65 and the FO 240x60 roller bags.

I measured the NP at 7.4kg and the FO at 5.6kg.

I can fit my Tabou rocket 115L 242x66 with two sails and a boom into the FO but it is a very tight fit. 240x62 boards easy as.

The FO is a way better bag, the compression straps keep every tight. The NP is way bigger in volume (you can fit two boards in side). I brought the NP as didn't think I would fit my rocket in the FO and I brought the FO for my smaller gear (I travel with two roller bags).

FO don't make a 250x70 or 245x65 only a 265x80 race bag (plus the above 240x60), which is disappointing as it limits a lot of free ride gear. It would be good if they made a 250x70x26 roller bag

I recently did a trip to New Cal with AirCalin. At the time the baggage limit was 32kg, which they've just changed to 23kg.

I used the FO Rig Roller (www.flyingobjects.com.au/products/windsurf/rig-roller/) for my kit and a separate bag for my board. My rig bag weighed in at 31kg, with 3 race sails, 2 masts, 1 boom, harness, extension and 2 fins. I threw a towel in and a new fin on the way home and it nudged 33kg, but luckily they turned a blind eye.

I decided to go with the rig roller because I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to use one bag for everything if flying internally (Australia) etc.

Have to say that the roller wheels were fantastic. I used the shoulder strap for my board with the same arm wheeling my suitcase, and the other hand carting the rig roller. Bit of a pain to maneuver around those stupid zig-zagging roped off queues, but all-in-all it was pretty painless.

The quality of the FO bags is great and the wheels held up really well with all that weight. I'm happy with my purchase.

I recently flew my gear Melb - Syd with Qantas. You used to fly 32kg free, but it now needs to fly freight. Down side is that, unless you want to pay a huge cost, you have to drop it at the freight terminal the day prior. Up side is that you aren't restricted to the 32kg. It was also pretty convenient given I was travelling with wife and kid - much easier than getting the widsurf gear to the counter along with all the other luggage.

In my FO bag I had board, 3 sails, 2 masts, base, harnes, fins, screw driver, wetsuit plus the board was in a second bag for protection. 35kg.

Really happy to have bought the FO bag.

Thanks for all the feedback. Wifiee bought me one for Christmas so all sorted now. Certainly look the business. Well made and light weight. Come July I'll give it the proper test :-)
