I need help to select a few fins for my 2012 89Falcon and 2011 101 to be used with sails from 5.0, 5.8, 6.3, 7.0, and a 7.8
And what do you recommend for a couple of SPEED fins for the 89.

Not sure how wide the 89 is,but the 34cm Vector Rockit on my 60cm wide sonic with my 5.7m is best combo i've tried yet.

I do not use smaller as these fins are very narrow and quite soft.

I tried the more raked back 30cm Vector slalom fin,not the rocket and board went sideways bigtime with no lift.

The 7.0m and 7.8m the much wider chord of the 36cm Rockit is perfect.

The advantage using the Vector Rockit over a carbon fin,especially when sailing in chop, is when you hit a gust it the fin twists off,stopping the board from over lifting.

Black Project are great fins, get good write ups and are in the middle price bracket.

I am a team rider with them now but was already changing over to them before I got the offer. I originally tested them on some Exocets last year (Type R) and had 3 sessions in a row where I beat my PB nautical mile speed, at that point I made the decision to start a quiver.

I have since got quite a few, and on the first outing with my 40cm type R I hit a submerged boat at 25knots, luckily the fin box is deep tuttle so little damage happened to the box, with just a small crack at the back where it pivoted up inside. The fin however took me only a couple of mins to sand by hand and it is barely noticable. I clipped a rock at half the speed with another brand of black fins and the fin was never the same again.

For your sails I would get a range of S type (all round speed, long thin profile - see Anders review) through to R type (slalom fins but still very fast) with the bigger sails, sizes would depend on the water state, I can sail comfortably upwind in chop with a 7.6 tush x15 and their 35cm type R as they are stiff. For top speed fins they do a type X delta shape which is asymmetric so would need to be spot specific.

Well if you recommend Black Project, do not forget to say that they need to be sanded or wet-sanded. A LOT.
And the Type R is not my first choice for the small boards.
But a very good fin for big slalomboards, like JP 68 and 84, Naish Sp110, 128 and 135, CA SL75 etc. Type S is better for small boards.
There a lot of good fins at the market.

I think i will go with Vector fins since i have a few of them in 38 40 42 43
i should try the Vector Rocket in 36 and maybe few Volt in the smaller sizes.
For speed fin maybe i should give the Delta speed 27 a try.

Yes, the 27 Delta Speed Weed worked beatifully in the 89 with 6.7 & 6.2 sails. Hopefully they do a 29 and 31 in the near future...
The new Volt is getting good reviews for PWA type slalom, not sure how suitable they are for real world conditions yet...

in my '11 falcon 85 i use a KA/CL 23 (which works surprizingly well in flat water ans small chop) i also use a 30 tectonics falcon. i also have a 30cm FO weedy.

the weedy is a bit too big but i dun 40 in WA on that combo with a 6.2.

I tried the 36cm Vector Rockit with my 5.7m and the fin was way too big,perhaps not enough sail area to twist the fin off properly,so it felt too stiff.

The 34cm Vector in powered up conditions, is miles more slipperly and softer than the 36cm, the 36cm may be better all-round fin.

Love to try the Choco fireblade in the smaller sizes just in case
