Got myself a nice (used) wave board (99 litre Nude Chopper) which has two very flexy 16 cm fins. They're definitly worn and I was keen to replace them with a decent set. Basically I'm pretty average at wave sailing and tend to put too much pressure on my rear foot, so I was hoping if I run some 18 cm plus G10 fins to get a bit more drive and bite to compensate (in part) for my lack of skill. Not worried about loosing top speed, just want to have some grip at the back end until I become more used to the board. The size and turning ability is perfect for me (it's inteneded as a light wind, cross on mush wave board), but it just feels too sloppy with no drive. Any fin recommendations, or is this a normal thing for twin fins?

I put 17's in the 86 quad and they are much better but as a very good windsurfer(Chris Mitchell) said to me years ago when i whinged about grip n slip. "Angle of attack can fix that". Flatten out the board on water surface and align your balance and weight more to the direction your heading, then tweak your rig back hand and mast pressure and feel the turbo.

Thanks guys. I'll track down some stiffer 17 cm plus fin and give it a shot to get a bit more feel for driving a twinny. Other than that the board feels great.

If you get too many offers I am chasing a couple of 17 - 19cm G10 fins in US box also, stiff onshore oriented wave shape.
Hard to find old/used and not going to pay $200 plus for new fins in an experiment board!!

Hey Mark,

Yeah I'm hoping someone has some to sell me at a sensible price. I've rung shops from Syd, Qld and Perth- and no success so far.
