I need to cut down a Fiberspar boom a few inches to better fit my smaller (foil) sail quiver. I have done this before, but now I can't find anybody who has the twist lock kit. I have had good service from several Fiberspar booms, and I want to keep using them. Yes, they're old, but they're stiff as granite and fairly light. Never broken one.

Has anybody tried to remove the existing twist lock without cutting it off?

Is is perhaps possible to heat the glue joint with a heat gun (not too hot, of course) to soften it? Then twist off the existing lock?

I would cut off the arm just after the twist locks, then saw the inner tube in a few strips, and then it should be possible to detach it.

You could try getting a big shifter and clamp down on the boom handle just in front of the clamp and hit the shifter with a hammer , knocking the clamp off the end . Works for me .
Ps.. The ones I've done were all press fit , not glued.

I used a hacksaw and slit the twist lock housing length wise as many times as necessary , then peeled off the sections.

Yes, that's exactly what Kevin Gratton showed in his youtube. It destroys that inside "finger" piece, and you have to replace it with a new one.

The problem then becomes: where can you get new parts? Years ago those parts were everywhere. I got them from my local dealer.

Nowadays nobody has those parts anymore. However, Wind Power Watersports in Wisconsin has them (see above). Hundreds of them, and access to the mold to make them. So, if you are wanting to keep your Fiberspar booms going, they are your source for parts.
