Does any one know where I can get a daggerboard gasket or how to make one for a circa 1992 F2 Lightning 377 Raceboard

Or where I can get 2mm thick poyethylene, polymer or vynil?

Extreme lack of wind and boredom have driven me back to a longboard

Maybe ask Windgenuity. They are the current F2 importer and I think they have been the F2 importer for a fair while.

www.windgenuity.com.au/

Otherwise fleabay and see if you can find another similar board.

Seriously considering getting such a board. It would be great for some longboard cruising. It would be funny listing such a board on the GPS Challenge site.

go to a sail maker and get some stickyback dacron, some 20mm seam tape ,and some sailmakers sail template mylar, you will need to laminate two peices of mylar with the seam tape then stick the dacron on both sides you will need two of them one each side should cost about $30 in material
you will need to overlap them by about 5mm

Lucky you with a lightning

Have you tried clark rubber?

Keef does your idea spring back into place after you've retracted the centreboard a few times?

I think a good raceboard will give a bit of a shock gps wise

i used to make a few race boards in the 80's, what you will find is with the laminated mylar and dacron it is very stiff because it isnt very wide and it has incesible memory where as clark rubber will catch on the daggerboard and jam up into the box
i never had any problems with the gasket not what i can remember it seems soooooooooooooooooo long ago

concur with that and be neat with the contact cement , masking off the areas that don't require it with masking tape.

The last board I had before going off windsurfing was a F2 Lightning.

the lack off wind drove me to get one. then the wind seemed to just get lighter.
