Hi!

I have an old F2 Comet that comes with a movable mast track. It works fine, but the mast base's pin pops out when forced instead of keeping safely attached. I've tried the unlocking and locking mechanism and looks like OK.

any ideas about usual problems? I'm not 100% sure about the pin being the matching one, I can take a picture or measurements.

also, I would like to use my standard Bic / Tiga screwed bases on the Comet.

I could delete the post but I will state the answer risking to be dubbed as dumb: it was my fault, the lock has two positions and it must be set to the farther in position to lock the pin in place...

Don't feel bad my mistral prodigy locking mechanism is exactly the same, must be pushed into second locking position to actually fully lock in position. Took me some time and a few swims back to shore to work it out !

Haha I'm glad I figured it out before sailing it for a while...
