just searching for a new or used Ezzy Zephyr 7.5 or recommendations for similar, suitable for longboard cruising on my river mouth loving LT. For my 85 kg, an old narrow luff grid film Aerotech 7.0 has been great but aging fast due to the amount of use it gets.

I have one I no longer use but it's in Florida. A good option would be the Kona One Design sail in either 7.4 or 7.8. The 7.8 is similar dimensionally and probably lighter.

What about a ezzy Legacy or Bic one design ,both would suit long boards .maybe .?

I think the Ezzy Zephyr would outperform a Bic Techno rig, especially on a longboard which is what the Ezzy Zephyr is designed for (cp. Bic Techno being a hybrid course slalom fun short board with daggerboard). That said I am sure the Bic Techno rig is good on a Techno especially being class legal.

Technos would be counted a longboard surely?

I don't know never sailed one but I would not call it a longboard. I would say it is more of a course slalom board hybrid at 9'6" with a small dagger for directional stability and shorter than the 12 foot plus race long boards and similar. Kind of the shorter course slalom predicted or referenced by Peter Thommen and others in 1989- early 90s. The added factor it is a shorter youth model designed for younger sailors replacing the Tiga Aloha even using the Tiga mast base and Tiga sliding mast track (excellent track and base by the way) as Tiga was acquired by Bic. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/General/Course-Slalom-History?page=1 You can't call the McTavish plastic machine with deep vee a true longboard but it was the short board revolution about 9 foot long (short then) when it created a sensation at Honolua Bay in 1967. www.theinertia.com/surf/monumental-sessions-honolua-1967/ Language, design and length are relative concepts.

Not all approved production models in the International Raceboard Class are necessarily longboards. There is no established definition of longboards but the former approved production models is more precise. Indeed many Raceboards which are longboards are not included on the approved production models eg F2 Lightning World Cup Race 1990 and 1989 and many years of omitted Equipes eg 1993 Equipe and omitted IMCO boards of specific years and 1989 and 1990 Tiga Race Prestige, they are all longboards but not approved raceboards. Sadly the listing of approved production models is of little help to many especially in this part of the world. Now here is another problem, if you say a 9'6" board is a longboard that makes the Bombora Tri Fin a longboard which I think is doubtful. etc. Same for Speed guns of that length.
