It is some indicator indeed. You could ride, then listen to your device if any improvement you made cause any difference to your speed.
That could be ok enough assuming that wind speed remains constant.
If not, you attribute this fluctuation in your speed regardless of changes in wind strength.
Next advantage of screamer for those with good ear could be presenting audibly two tone at this same time different initial pitch.
Tone One - representing you real speed reading by GPS
Tone Two - representing "efficiency factor" If you have this ear for tunes like violinist have you may know instantly when you are close to maximum performance.
Again. For Sunday sailors there is no need to concentrate always on obtaining maximum speed. Sometimes vice versa. Sometimes I am gratefully that my board do not speed up indefinitely in this gusts on the chop that I could not handle.
