It's a Barracouta custom 9.5mtr (I think), 4 x full battens 1 x half batten and no cams, the luff is just over 520 and the clew is about 238

Central sticker proudly says: 3x World Champion, Open Class 1981 USA. Probably it wasn 't DII, but hull is rounded enough :). I 'll appreciate any info: comments, memories, data, brochures. Thanks.

Div 2 are great to sail upwind 'on the rail' in flat water in 10knots, depending on sail size.
Then threshold to sail raceboard on the rail in straps then plane on reaches.
Hey you did the Montague Island race on that board for 4th place finish behind F2 lighting's - that must have taken some skill in planning open ocean conditions

That was an awesome event, is it still raced?
Dave was always at the pointy end of the fleet and with a bigger sail smoked us. I remember having the lead over Craig (with identical gear) for most of the race but as we got closer to shore his surfing knowledge saw his past me. Like Jimmy Spital in SF Americas Cup never gave up

Div 2 were fun on the lake and seeing some harder chine designs should be easier to sail downwind. I guess some of the raceboard sup may influence board design!?

Regroup by small regional cohorts (3-4 D2) ...Then organize one national Event / year.

I agree! Had a great sail on my Lechner yesterday on the lake. Comfortably powered up with a 7.5 doing a nice 10knots to windward on the rail. Forgot how much I love that feeling on the Lechner. Peak speed of 15 knots not quite enough to burn off Doug ;) Time to fit a footstrap!

With all of the longboard talk revolving around the LT these days just letting you know we had 2 Lechners and a Davidson racing at Saratoga Sailing Club NSW on Sunday. All rigged with 9.5 RB sails for the 5 to 15knot breeze. All sailors upon returning to the club could not wipe the smiles of their faces. We sometimes forget that railing a D2 board upwind is one of windsurfings great joys . Its a pity few people get to experience it , pure joy combined with exceptional speed

My DB2 developed a split down the join about 50cm long, I thought I was getting good at sailing it but turned out filling it with water makes it less wobbly.

Contemplating splitting the whole thing in half, do some proper repairs to a couple of weak spots and sticking back together, just not sure what that will entail or how hard it will be

Anyone interested in the Lechner A390 replicas being made in Slovenia? I am thinking of importing one to Sunshine Coast.

Div 2 boards do look fantastic but our sport is split into so many factions. Around the bouy racing is a small percentage of the sport and even that is split into at least 8 classes!

I don't mind if I'm not sailing the best race gear but i just want to race the same gear. It also should be cheap and beginners can learn on it.

Don't mean to offend and just my personal view on trying to grow the sport and build fleets/stop the contraction. I'm sure if I sailed a Div 2 board in the light stuff I'd think it was great.

Reading the website they list 3 options for construction with different weights

Glass 16kg
Glass-Carbon 15kg
Carbon 14kg

They must be well over 300lts but with weight less than a cobra built Raceboard. I wonder about the durability and price. At 16kg the glass construction is on par with a modern Raceboard and I am guessing it is a very durable option.

Another well know brand is producing a new model Raceboard and they commented on FB that modern sandwich construction (cobra built) is the only option these days, hmmmm. I wonder if these DB2's will prove that a lighter more durable board can be produced and sold for less than the 6K that a modern Raceboard will cost to buy.

Makes me think changes to the RB Class Rules regarding approved production boards need to be revisited.

I have bruno Sainval 13127 I think it's same age as D2 I'm breaking my mind to attach Dagger boards. I think I'm missing a peace but I don't know what exacly because Daggerboards are to big and simply falling into the hole .
