There are a lot of acronyms for a beginner to learn, and I swear I've tried to Google this. Most of the boards I've seen are FWS (Full Wood Sandwich), ES (Epoxy Sandwich) or PRO (not sure). If I've got this right, the FWS is a bit lighter than the ES construction and possibly harder to break.

The Tabou Rocket has options LTD or CED. What are these and what does the difference mean in practice?

check the website, and the ltd is their biax carbon sandwhich and the CED is there pvc full sandwhich

I think you will find LTD pretty much always stands for Limited (edition) same as Pro construction.
All of them are epoxy sandwich.

The difference is pro / limited etc are designed to be lighter and often are a bit weaker.
Recently (last say 3 yrs) those pro / ltd etc types have become a bit better through use of biaxial glass or innegra such that they are actually lighter and stronger in many cases. But you bl00dy pay for it, that's for sure.
Exception to the rule being fresstyle boards that are so light I would not go anywhere near them.

Unless planning on jumping 20ft and learning crazy moves .......forget all that stuff just buy normal - happy times ahead.
