Hi, congrats on the work so far. My first positive criticism though, is that the app looks like it was "written by a programmer".
I've looked at all the resources I could find for windsurfing and ended up happily paying $45/yr or something for the 'windy' app.

Here's why:

Favourite spot is 'Goolwa regatta club' (actually, 'only spot' so far). Click #2 is to check it out in more detail



So, now I know everything I need to know. 12 knots will do. In my experience, the gust speed tends to hint that the baseline speed may be or seem to be more so optimism is the order of the day.

The sail widget is based on my weight (95kg) but doesn't know I'm on a 159cm board or much else. Nevertheless, my eye does tend to gravitate to the smallest sail size (1500 hours).

Drilling into Sunday shows only 9.5 knots so it has to be Saturday. The wind direction tells me I'll have trouble / fun tacking back to the shore.

One other feature of the Windy app is worth pointing out...




The 'Compare' view lets me see forecasts from a number of models. I would suggest to model consensus to enrichen the UI view. I mean, if you know there is a consensus that add another property to the aggregate views to show confidence in the forecast. Don't ask the user to reason about it like Windy app does. Doing this could, perhaps, give your app a reputation for better accuracy.

In summary: I would start by thinking about what each of windsurfer, kite surfer, surfer, kayaker etc etc want to see and work back from there (but release only to one kind until you have users). Your current work seems to be to be a solid 'data repository' that you can improve on as a base to supply data to the view.

I'm in Auckland on the shore and nice work.
Sure it's not so much about wind strength forecast throughout the day but tells conditions as is but I'm in Torbay so local surf Long bay and Orewa and wind direction accurate but has strength much lower than at the beach. Guessing this is because it's taking reading from Weti which will be less than the beaches.
Should be onshore windsurf tomorrow and surf Monday afternoon after nw change the Tuesday morning will be clean surf
