Has anybody tried one of these?

It seems to be marketed towards kitesurfing but I was wondering how suitable it would be for windsurfing.

Basically I am looking for it to stop the sliding style spreader bars from moving from side to side on the webbing and to reduce the amount it pulls upwards towards your chest.

I actually bought a kitesurfing waist harness for exactly that reason.

I have no side to side and very little pull up movement on the bar. Only down side is the handle on the back of the harness. At the time that I bought it, a few years ago, it was the only waist harness I could find that virtually removed all unwanted movement of the spreader bar.

I can't really comment on the Da Kine bar...haven't seen it.

yer i had one on my old da kine spreader, works really well, takes a bit to get used to with the bar not sliding anymore, but when your hanging from the harness in light wind it stops the bar coming up over the kidney belt part..

Interesting; I have just checked a response on the kiter forum and was told that it only provides some padding and doesn't stop the bar moving from side to side at all. I suppose the best thing is to take my harness into a shop and try it out.

there are 2 different ones, one just kinds of velcro's to your spreader, the other has straps stiched too it, so you take your old webbing strap off and use the ones with it, this is the one i have..

Aha, I shall investigate this weekend; if you can find a link to it it would be appreciated.
