Just for a little fun has anyone ever made there own board? and if so

how did you decide on shape

where did you get parts mast track fin box etc

all a bit of fun thats all.

Mr Love's new board

Back in the mid 80s we did some shaping, a few of us made some surfboards and had a go at a couple of wave boards. It was a different time though, all done with fiberglass and foam and beers with your mates so it was never serious

raggy ill give you a tipive said this before and its a bit stale , if you want to make a board that works get an old longreef hard core, i picked one up last week for $100 with board bag and fin.
when you peel all the glass off you have a pre shaped blank and you can make the required ajustments , theres no need for divinicell just glass, the only downfall is the board will end up 1/2 a kg heavyer,now thats what i call fun, you know theres no fun in spending all the time and money on something that will end up at your local tip
the reason i prefer the hardcore is the board is a proto and if it works then you can do a carbon sandwitch, if it doesnt work then it has only cost the resin, glass and your time, i would say about $100 + $250 for glass and resin

remember i said a while back ive made my last board put it this way its like reboxing your old fin, you dont have to make the fin, 80% of the work has already been done

how do i get hold of one ?

just look around there out there
the three boards have similar rockers & the f2 weighs 4.8kgs
with the longreef have a look at the volume there is to work with
bottom pic is before glassing, the board is sailing at 6.00kgs with strap's and so far 34. something GPS
