Getting bored of ISO + lack of wind and wanting to make some custom fin covers.

Has anyone else here done up some custom fin covers? What are the does and don'ts.

I use EVA foam sheet , ( Clark Rubber ) , and just glue the two halves together with contact adhesive . ( Sellys Quick Grip Horizontal , Bunnings )
Mark around the fin and give it one cm extra all around .
Then mark another line 1.5 cm further out all around .'( total of 2.5 cm wider than the fin all around ).
Cut out two of these on the outside line .
Sand the inside edges to be glued . This is important , with rough paper .
Tape with masking tape the inside where the fin is and the other 1 cm . Leaving the 1.5 cm strip to be glued .
Glue both halves , take off tape , wait a couple minutes and push both halves together when both sides have just lost their tackiness .
This stuff instantly sticks and wont come apart . So make sure you align both halves before sticking .
Then with a sharp stanly knife trim a couple mm around the edge to make it look sexy . Or a good pair of scissors .

90 mm down pipe or bigger. Fin dependant
Carpet tile sample book.... usually free
Soften a sample size of pipe in the oven, this will give you the strip size of the carpet.
Cut the carpet into a strip to cover the fin and fit into the squashed pipe
Heat pipe, install carpet, fit fin between carpet , squash flat and let it cool
Fill one end with silicone. Done 1 very tough fin cover.

Hi, how many covers are you after? I can supply Eva custom cut covers and supply screen printed graphics on covers.
look for T10Fins on Facebook for details and further info on a range of Custom Carbon Slalom fins manufactured in New Zealand.

At Bunnings you can buy an absorbent oil mat for under the car. Its plasticised on one face and absorbent mat on the other, perfect material for fin covers. I had to make 70. Wife thinks I may have a fin fettish?
