Never seen a cork grip on a boom before, but it's meant to be more durable than normal eva.

We are lucky- an enormous cork forest lies just north of us.
I suspect you will appreciate- as I do- the qualities of cork! Its more resistant than EVA...

Would love to try. I have used cork flooring for numerous projects and although the flooring product is reconstituted cork and resins it has a lovely feel and pretty flexible although it wouldn't be practical for a boom due to its weight.

The natural cork on Monty's boom would be nearly as light as EVA so not a bad idea at all. Now just to call my custom boom manufacturer.

With a cork tail-piece too? I don't think so.

I've seen some Loft team guys with these booms in Europe and tried one out. The cork looks (and feels) great, but what's more impressive still is the boom itself. A really nice piece of composite engineering. Extremely stiff, ergonomic and just outright beautiful. They're not unlike the defunct Gulftech Maxima formula booms, but with way better finishing.
Apparently they're made by some guy in the Czech Republic or thereabouts. Unfortunately pretty pricey too...

With more and more wineries sealing their wine bottles with screw caps or plastic "corks" nowadays...could this be just the shot in the arm our cork industry needs?
