Tess Lloyd, of the well known Melbourne windsurfing family, has just been announced as skipper of the 49erFX skiff in the Australian Olympic team. Tess' parents are both mainstays and huge supporters of the One Design/LT class, as well as dinghies. Tess sailed the Junior One Designs years ago, before she suffered her terrible injuries in a sailing accident. For Tess to go through all that, and the disappointment of topping the selection trials four years ago but not being selected, and come out as an Olympian is an amazing and inspirational story.
