Hi all
I am new to the sport and been using mates gear up until recently where I bought some cheap gear on marketplace where the seller claimed he had used it all before but with one of the sails at North Sails 5.5 spectro plus 3 and the right mast he said to use I cannot seem to make the battons fit around the mast and they keep popping behind it how do I fix this as I want to try head out in the next couple days
I cannot put photos up as this is a new account

Have you set the boom length to the specification shown on the sail?

I can't attach photos but the mast if laying flat is above the batons and I can't seem to get the cams I think they're called around the mast instead of stuck on one side

There's tricks to that and it varies with sails. But most sails require very little downhaul and max outhaul to the cambers on.
Pull the downhaul fully on after the cams are on.

But a cambed sail, isn't a good learning sail, you'd be much better off with a non cambed sail.

If the cams are easy to remove, I'd take them off while you are learning.

^^^ Yes to all
You need to over outhaul it and then push CAREFULLY on the batten end in the luff panel to then use your other hand to force cams on. It is fiddly for experienced people and as Decrepit rightly says it is not a beginner sail.
I am a bit at the seller for seeing you coming. Sorry mate, he should be ashamed.

If you're in WA send me a message I will give you free sails that suit a beginner to intermediate.
