As you can see i've recently broken this board, I've just purchased another board that came without footpads, My question, can I take the footpads off of this board and put them on the other one? I.E. will I be able to get them off in 1 piece and will they still be in good enough condition to be glued back onto the new board?

With a hair dryer. Not too much heat and they will come off. Use contact adhesive to get them back on.
Dont stretch them when getting them off other wise they wont sit the same.

Thats if they come off like surfboard pads, they look the same

No, didn't have to, I live and sail on Boracay, you can stand almost everywhere in the bay at medium to low tide. I guess that made me lucky in this instance :D,cause sailing back wouldn't have worked.

Does it take a lot of effort to take them off that way? I mean, how long you think I'll be blowing with the hairdryer before I'm done taking off the front and back footpads? (If too long i'll try to find a thin rubber sheet instead here on the island, I've seen those around)

I take them off with a sharp blade, but you have to be careful it's easy to cut into the rubber. (must try the hair dryer trick next time).
Interesting that board's broken in tension across the deck, most of the ones I've seen break in compression across the bottom. I'd still have a go at repairing it though if it were mine.

If you try to get them off and stuff up, you can make new pads very cheaply from foam pool tiles.

They were a bit slippery like this, so I now use a "V" cutter in my router to cut lines at 90deg in it like this.

Nice, how do those pads feel while sailing? Do they still feel alright / give you a good direct feel of the board? (They seem a bit thick).

I found a rubber sheet already, but it's also on the thick side so I am trying to find something thinner, because I figure that maybe too much thickness will decrease the feel that I have on the board.

I quite like thick pads, absorbs some of the shock, but these are also a bit soft so you sink in as well.

I've thinned them out through the centre (sanding disk on a small angle grinder) and left them thick at the rails, my feet don't like being on a very curved surface, this flattens it out a bit.

...or end up with a board that looks like decrepit's!

I've made my own pads in the past, but would avoid it if poss. Sharp filleting knife & hair-dryer (or heat-gun set on low) if you insist on removing them. The glue can be softened with chemicals, but I'd be worried that it would melt the pads.

They just need to be really warm but not too hot or you will kill the pad. If you get a hot day 35+ deg leave it outside for an hour and that should do the same job.
Sometimes you might need a sharp blade to get stuborn parts of it off like what Decrepit said. All you need to do is heat the old glue up so its soft. See how you go but its not easy.

On a slightly different topic, I can never keep mine on. The starboard pads always seem to seperate (bottom plain layer from the top fish layer). They start peeling off at the edges until I reglue with contact adhesive. I've tried a few different glues, but no magic yet that keeps them stuck. I wonder if it's from being in a hot car? My car would easily reach 35+ degrees.

I did a tiny chop hop when this happened. Was practicing jumping before and made a few flattish landings in the weeks leading up to this happening. I never jumped very high though, probably max 1 meter measured from board to water... Actually with my replacement board now, an old school 1999 mistral classic jumping is going much better for me, I seem to progress at light speed compared to the super-x, it's also faster... that oldie is pretty neat :D

soak the pads with mineral turps and cover with plastic leave over night

That would be the reason, but before you put them on a new board I wet and dry sand paper the area so the glue really has something to stick to. And put the pads out in the sun for 15mins to get them nice and soft and sticky!!

get some mineral turps and soak some cotton rags. lay the rags on the pads, then wrap the area with a garbage bag to seal in the moisture and fumes, and let it sit for a few hours. they virtually fall off, glue and all. if you take care, you can even re apply the pads with the existing glue.

u use the same technique for changing boom grip too

the few times ive done it, i've not had any problems with the board's paint, but they were production boards. not sure about other types of paint

The turps trick sounds awesome. Would it do any damage to the board? I've got an unbroken board with crappy after market pads I'd like to remove. I'm half wondering if the previous owner used them to conceal a ding...

If it's also cheap after market paint, possibly.
If original paint probably not.
But if it's got a stick on plastic design, there's a good chance that will come loose as well.
