Still feeling it now 6 months later although I'm 80% better. $1000 at the podiatrist later and the orthotics help a lot, no pain while wearing them. Barefoot on concrete/tile brings on pain pretty quickly though.
I have 2 mates in the kite foil group in SEQ area also suffering with similar issues. It's been over a year for one of them. Slowest healing injury any of us have ever had.
Did doing calf raises, or slow negative calf raises on one leg help? I had achilles tendonitis like that and it was the main thing that did help for me.
