I landed a little aerial on my big gear flat and basically was crippled for 3 days with a bruised heel, anyone else had this, why the hell aren't the pros launching massive moves coming in on one or no legs

The swelling has no where to go.

Similar, but doing gybes in 20cm of water and nobody home. Hitting hard sandy bottom with heals. Calcaneus bone. Takes ages to heal. Took mine over a year and I still get sensations. About 4 years ago that happened. I probably should've gone to a specialist. A few Kite surfers on this site have wrote about their experiences with this injury.

I've had the same and it took ages to heal. Good orthodontics helped the healing process.

I'm a kite foiler and came down with Achilles Tendonitis at the start of the year. Too much heel pressure hard carving, plus Gym also contributed.

Couldn't walk very far so a couple of days with feet up and heel on ice and .. yeah right that didn't help at all. Still feeling it now 6 months later although I'm 80% better. $1000 at the podiatrist later and the orthotics help a lot, no pain while wearing them. Barefoot on concrete/tile brings on pain pretty quickly though.

I have 2 mates in the kite foil group in SEQ area also suffering with similar issues. It's been over a year for one of them. Slowest healing injury any of us have ever had.

Did doing calf raises, or slow negative calf raises on one leg help? I had achilles tendonitis like that and it was the main thing that did help for me.

Invisalign* is doing feet now?

We'll blame autocorrect for that one.

You could have given yourself Planar Fascitis, bruising in the soft tissue of the heel. Takes ages to heal due to there being less blood vessels in this area

Not same injury but plenty of ankle issues.
Now use Archie's jandels and so comfy

I had similar problem many years ago I ended up putting one of these heel cups in my booty for a few weeks so I could still ride while it was recovering. I have tried others but this lattice version is top notch
