any one else having certain issues with 'premium' brand boom breakages. wasnt to happy about this one, as ive never catapulted with this boom either (as in other people use it as well) the boom fell apart as i was sailing today BOTH SIDES!!!!! it felt like an alloy boom going, though it was really odd as both sides broke at the same time, hhmm... any thoughts or ponders

Just name the brand - it is not libel if yours broke and you are asking if others have too

For both sides to fall apart at the same time, sounds like a manufacturing fault. take it back for a replacement.

If you look at jsnfok's profile page and photos you'll see it isn't a Pryde.
Also looks like it broke right at the harness lines making it look kind of catapult-ish. How many people use this boom? Maybe one of those other people did go around the front and just kept quiet?
Anyway you should for sure go to where you got it from and ask their opinion.

I never had an issue with any Pryde stuff, it is the best I reckon, seen cheapo booms break during normal usage and some xpnsv carbon booms when they first came out.
