Yes agree with all above, and Basher said it well.
However, I raised my boom a smidge and improved my bottom turn and gybe as it enabled me to engage more rail. I think maybe as a heavy guy on big big waveboard

it is a bit more important as you want volume to get going but then need to sink that corky fat rail..?
Its a fine balancing act....
So fine that I'd adjust my boom height within a session as much as I'd adjust my down/outhaul....
I used that line of thought on a board I just built, when a light guy thought the rail was a bit hard to engage on his biggest board. Thinned out the rail about 100-150mm in from the edge around the centre to nose and it definitely helped. Its not just on the straights for wavesailors.... so a boom height that works for "sailing" might not be the best for riding...
