I bought a new Chinook boom, which I love lots of things about, except that it slips down my RDM KA masts no matter how tightly I do the clamp up. I do have the RDM adapter the boom comes with in place. Any ideas to stop the boom slipping down?

Usually less likely to slip with the rubber RDM shim on....

I disagree with tighter..... you can stuff up masts....

Have you tried other RDM shims? I found the NP one to be softer and grippier than the Ezzy/No Limitz ones - or the other way around!!!

I like the rough section that is on the boom area on the Severne RDMs now, would not be hard to add with some resin to your mast. It definitely won't slip then....

I don't like any of the factory shims that come with the booms, I always take them out and use the big rubber one instead. Never have I gotten any slippage using those, and it's better for your mast, no pressure points with those.
