Hope someone can help out??
Pulled an old Caveman (Ronnie Reagan) hi wind slalom board out from under house and decided to do a bit of a project on it. Old school board, very parallel rails, long and skinny.
Dims are 270 long, 49 wide and 4 inches thick. OFO is 32 cms.
Im looking at taking 35cms off the nose as its definitely needle nose. Rocker wont change, would surely be a specific type of board. Would look very Carbon Arty with the nose mod and 35cms less length.
Can someone assist in establishing the volume of said dims??
Cheers,
Larko.

I reckon it would be 90 - 100L

Chopping some nose off it is OK, but 350mm may be excessive, maybe 200mm-ish is better.
Reason is "relative" rocker is important, they had a lot of nose rocker as they often had negative tail rocker in those days so sailed very flat, whereas now it is almost other way around... so you may regret chopping off too much.
Maybe take off 200mm and seal it up temporarily, and try it

Hey Grant, it sounds like it was one of the ones copied off my Drops 8'10" 90 lts. Rexy has the same Drops and he cut 200 off the front, check with him. I had a JPSlalom Pro lll and it was the same board with 200 off the front.

Thanks guys. Ricardo, I got Rexy's board chopped but didn't think of the similarities. Will ask him for a look.
It sure is a typical Ronnie Reagan shape.
Thanks Mark, very aware of what taking too much off will do but its a bit of an experiment.
Cheers,
Larko
