Hello my windsurfing friends! I just put on line my last video from my last windsurfing session, two days ago at the Lake Urnersee in Switzerland. This is another super windy spot. It was my 4 th time there, and I always use my smallest sail, my 3.0. :)

Cheers!! : )

Thanks a lot Stretchy! :) It was a pleasure for me to ride there with only 4-5 riders. This place is super beautiful but also crowdy in general. I was happy to ride with a 654 ion...

This is actually a beautiful spot. Mother nature do the right thing there. The wind that blow there is called the Foehn. It's a south and warm wind that pass over the Alpes and drop down at this spot with strength. Many time it rain all over the region but not there at the lake. Check this graph that explain this wind effect... : )

Thanks for those nice comments! : ) It's really kind! The wind was from south. Even if the wind goes down those white montains you could still feel some warm. It's not like a super cold wind. That day, it was arround 8 C degres. Water was probably arround the same temperature. It was warmer on the lake then on shore. Rigging was kind of fresh and not so motivating. I did wish I had with me a cooler box fool of hot water to defreeze my fingers, but with so much wind, you work hard and stay warm easier... :) After that, I am always happy to did it! The beer is so good then.

that's not as cold as I imagined. Only a few degrees colder than Melbourne in winter and we don't get to look at the snow capped mountains in the background

Windguru WRF 9km predicts for gusts of more than seventy knots there. Take care.

I was watching some windsurfing there, from the ferry, back in July.
I was tempted to hop off and join in, but I had a train to catch.
It was the first train station I have ever watched windsurfing from.
It was a lot warmer that day, and quite calm elsewhere on the lake, but a good breeze was funneling through at the Fluelen end.

This last saturday, after I saw the forecast you could see up here, I did return to Urnersee. I did pass by Zugersee, a lake close to Unersee. It's was blasting there too, so I did took an eye on the spot there and I see a rider. I was thinking to give it a try there, but with a wind shadow on the shore for 100-200 meters.

I told some friends I was going to Unersee so, i did continue my road to my first idea. When I saw the lake Urnersee, it was not as windy as the previous lake. I did take time to eat my lunch and watch the wind going. It was not as windy as the forecast. It was between noon and one. I saw many riders go out of the lake. I was gusty, holy...

I decided to take the chance to return to the first spot to have a better idea. 30 min later, i was again at the first spot. The wind was funky on shore but strong on the middle of the lake with some liquid smoke flyng. I decided to go with my 3.7 to be able to get out or to play a bit on the inside, some clean little waves were there waiting to be surfed... : )

It was my last session here in Switzerland, but what a funny one with 12 C.

Here a little pick to give you an idea! : ) Cheers!
