I am a beginner and have a Severne Synergy kit with a 6.7 sail. This is paired with a Starboard Go 151lt. I weigh 75kg.
I am looking to invest in a smaller sail, possibly 5m2, for windier days.
The synergy kit has a non adjustable extension and boom to keep it beginner friendly.
Would it be better to buy a new synergy sail to match the existing kit or invest in an adjustable extension and boom to give me a larger range of potential new and second hand sails?

If its not an adjustable system, then I'd be moving toward something adjustable (an adjustable extension and boom) its kinda the way windsurfing kit works.

Theres so much more to choose from than just the synergy system.

The smaller sail may need a smaller mast or different size extension. Think about what wind conditions you want to sail the bigger board in and match the sail accordingly.

Speak to your local shop for second hand and look here too once you have an idea of what you're after and cost. Ask other sailors about kit too

Get cross-ply sails. If you stick with Severne, Gators are great all-round sails, which will last you a long time. Get RDM masts - the lightest you can afford. A skinny carbon 150-200 boom would be good too (Serverne Enigma). Stick to the same brand mast and sail.
