Amazing how the editor managed to cut all the kitesurfers from the video. But you can still see them at 1:33! Must have been a windsurfer working on the footage..

I've always associated the Hood river with insane conditions mega chop and wind..

I've sailed there over a few days. It was really good. The wind was fairly steady but wasn't full on, not nuclear. The wind picked up around mid morning and progressively strengthened during the day. The days were quite long as this was in late summer. I used sails from around 5.5m down to 4.5m and mainly on the 5m. This was from twenty years ago so sizes have changed since then. I used a fairly small board that had I think five fins, a bonza board or something like that. It was pretty good.
