I watched Antoine and Guy Cribb land at Poole after sailing 110km over the English Channel from France. Guy looked a bit knackered, Antoine strolled up the beach like he had been out for a quick blast around. Antoine was on 7.2 & medium board, Guy on 5.8m and small 80l slalom board. It was windy that day, I had just done my 3rd fastest speeds over at Portland Harbour speed strip on nice flat water. What a day for them to do that trip, no easy sailing, they did it in style.
His PWA record speaks for itself, multi discipline titles. Legend.
I'd read about that session online and it sticks with me. Guy was talking about that even as a pro how much more sail AA could hold down comfortably. Echoing other comments about his longevity, professionalism and demeanor. Also was watching a clip from Japan where he was on a foil in very windy conditions coming in second in a heat. He was willing to change with the times as well even late in his career.
Best wishes on his future endeavors.
