Hi all,

I have a Severne boom and the markings for the harness lines (lines and numbers) are worn out. I want to make those markings easier to see. What material do you think would do the job well and would be durable?

Thanks.

Thanks. I'll try to find these. What type of stores would carry these?

Mike,

You could try this paint pen: www.gettoolsdirect.com.au/gearwrench-1-pc-white-chisel-point-industrial-grade-paint-marker-86983.html.

Paint pens should also be available from Bursons or Repco (automotive parts stores, if you are not in Australia).

Hope this helps.

They are only there for positioning of harness lines.
Paint dots on your sails where the centres of the harness lines should be.

Sharpies as long as the grip is not black. I marked my boom and it is holding up pretty well (I should note that I marked the boom yesterday )

I have 8 Severne sails and none of them has dots on the sail to indicate the harness line position...

I adjust mine every time I sail . It's slightly different with each sail . It's easy , don't have the lines clamps too tight and Just move the lines towards the hand that's pulling too much . I do this while sailing . From my biggest to smallest sail it's only a couple inches . Markings could never be perfect , it even changes depending on outhaul and wind strength .

That's why I said "Paint dots on your sails where the centres of the harness lines should be". You have to sail them first and adjust the lines on the water. When you derig paint the dots.
