So, got my new gear two weeks ago.
145 Lt 2012 JP Funster
122 Lt 2006 Starboard carve
2x masts - 400 and 430
3x sails - 4,3, 5.2, 6.3
Been out about 5 or 6 times :) on Funster and once on the carve. Very happy with both. The funster is the ideal intermediate board for learning and light winds and the I can actually uphaul on the carve which I didn't think I would be able to.
Got my first harness and lines this week so can't wait to try that out.
Thanks to all for the advice and tips.
Nice choice gregob, you'll be hooked before you know it.
In my experience windsurfers are a helpful bunch so don't be afraid to ask others for rigging tips, it will make a difference.
Have fun!
Good one Greg, nice lot of gear.
When ya want a change of scenary head south. Trial Bay's extensive flats are perfect for learning waterstarts (plus wave jumping, wave riding, gybes etc), and a good place for the family too.
Hey Phil, I have already lined up the kids and the Missus. I was considering this weekend except the wind and weather looked a bit off. I'll keep an eye out and give you a buzz if we plan on heading down.
We are also looking at camping at the great lakes area over the october long weekend. What would be the best camping spot?
Hey Greg,
Good call, this weekend is pretty average, worst possible wind- s-e. Just wait for a s-wester or westerly, then you'll have clean wind to practice in. I'll pm you my number.
PS- I'm yet to camp or sail down Forster way, but I like to look of Sandbar on Smiths Lake. It's only a short drive over to Booti where most guys go, or simply sail on Smiths Lake.
