Have a F2 SL MEdium board with foam cut outs in tail. The cut outs have not been done well and leave gaps etc between the board and foam. What can I use to fill up the holes and what do I coat it with afterwards?
The gaps are 5 - 10 mm deep by 20 - 30 mm long

Epifill:::A medium-to-high density two-pack epoxy filler. Can be used above and below the waterline and is ideal for all manner of filling jobs. It is especially suitable for those jobs where compressive forces are high (ie. Between keels and hulls). It is also ideal for use as a bedding material under deck fitting such as winches etc. Easy 2:1 mixing ratio.

the best thing to do is take a pic and post it then everyone will know what your talking about, i'm sure you can get away with a 2pack 5 min needit stick, the stuff i use is from autopro and it's black and set's like steel and can be sanded in 10 min then use a auto spray pack paint

I agree with choco.. if you're looking for a filler then use International's Epifill rather than the kneed-it/ding stick products. It's a bit more expensive but is only about $20-30 for the small pack. I've used both types and wouldn't use the stick fillers again.

just had a look at the website and it looks good at $20

Drying 10ºC 15ºC 23ºC 35ºC
Sandable 38hrs 32hrs 16hrs 8hrs
i think theres horses for courses Captn Scooby, 16hrs @23ºC is a long time off the water when with a stick you can force it into cracks with pressure and your back on the water in 10 min, i haven't seen epifill but if you want a good filler for small jobs you can't get any better than fgi 045 it dries incredibily hard and it is weightless (it doesnt sag) meaning its like jelly and you dont have a problem with air holes like other fillers

You're right I didn't. I've got some speed stick but this stuff sounds like it may be better for filling two dents I have in the hull?

FGI has suggested Arildite as they no longer have Epifill. Has anyone used Arildite - success? Will it eat into the foam?

yep but I figure if I've done some sort of damage that requires a repair, then I'll either swap boards or go home, and in any case let the board dry properly then fix it up... I'm pretty pedantic about potential water ingress so I don't mind the wait, but that's just me. My personal opinion is that epifill is less likely to crack under torsional or bending stress than the stick products (but I haven't tried the FGI products, I'll check them out when my tin is empty)... in any case, horses for courses like you said keef
