Last year I got some new loft sails that came with an adjustable outhaul thingo. So far I've avoided looking at them but now I'm curious and there's no instruction how to set them up.
Can anyone advise what connects to what and how it works. I'm guessing I need to add more rope as well??
Thanx

Thanks Fred, I couldn't find that link myself. It all makes sence now.

I've been using one of those lately. It's nice to be able to adjust it on the fly but the strap gets in that way of your grip a bit. I was thinking of adding some sort of shim/spacer thingy to move it a bit away from the booms so I can get my fingers under it easily. It doesn't need much.

??? You're not meant to put it near your hand positions... the lever/rope-pull should be about 1-2ft behind your back hand, so that you can put your shoulder into it.

Some brands have quite a long tie-on mechanism, which is a little annoying... although you should still be able to mount it 10inches or more from the back of your harness line.

Just tried it out today and found same as notwal, fun to use but makes the boom a little unkempt on that side. I'll try Mathew's version next time out but I suspect putting it much further aft will make it difficult to release (but easy to pull on) ??
