For goodness sake; I am going to get a T-shirt made up with the following slogan:

# I was better at this in the 1990's

Far out, I went out yesterday in 24 knots of wind after a break of about 9 months (I am embarrassed to say!) and I was completely trashed after about 2 minutes! One beach start, in the straps, failed carve gybe, a waterstart, back in the straps and my heart rate must have been up to nearly 200....oh yes and the walk of shame back along the beach! It is amazing just how much you lose the fluency when you don't get the time to practise it!

Blooming starting families and going back to university in one's late 30's are two main culprits of such a demise! Nevertheless 1996 North Zeta is still intact, though it is a shame that my seat harness and wetsuit has shrunk over the last 10 years!

The same happens to my clothes . I blame that on a different brand of washing powder .

One of the problems maybe that your gear has also shrunk!
Could be worth thinking about some new bigger kit.

Yes, i've noticed my boards all float less well after each winter. Damn cold weather shrinkage.

One GOOD thing when you get older you get more stubborn ,so get out there and give it another crack
we all still have **** days .I'm with others, old sails seem a bit twitchy and overpower more easy .
A camless slalom sail would be a good move ,but keep at it ,wash that wetsuit in some shampoo and conditioner in a hot shower
that will soften it up ..surely you haven't put on weight if you can see ya toes your good but if you can't see the other thing
your in the **** .

No worries seeing the 'other thing' after installing a mirror under the toilet seat ;)

Yeah , that's the excuse I gave when I got busted installing a camera in a public toilet
Could be going off topic here .

Welcome back Sputnik Lad . Family + Uni in late 30s would be all consuming.
