yeah it's high up the list. i like the shape of the 06 models too... older lines. 2011 seems to have reasonable fuel economy .
an older model navara is also on the list. even a datsun 720 if i can find one..

Pajero
It fits 490 mast diagonally up in the the roof, held up by rope tightened on door handles. Also more masts.
Fits 8.5 Ezzy Cheetah diagonally, that's my biggest one so all good.
Can fit birds but bit squishy.

They won't get bogged, and really good ones can be got cheap.
This one was $11.5k.
I shopped used private nation wide and got it sent on a truck.

The 06 have thicker steel in the chassis than the later models hence the lower fuel numbers. No issue except if you're towing stuff. The Datos were good runners too. The Navara's I think had an issue with the fly wheels

Doing some googling on the flywheel issue. Not sure if it's the d22 or d40 or both. D22 is reported to be the version to get.
