Board Crazy Burrum Windfest 2026 27 April - 3 May | Burrum Heads, QLD
The Board Crazy Burrum Windfest returns to Burrum Heads from 27 April to 3 May 2026 for a full week of wind chasing, speed hunting and solid community vibes.
Australia's largest and longest running GPS windsurfing event continues to evolve, with divisions for Windsurf, Windfoil and Wingfoil.
When the wind is up, all bets are off. Expect PBs, drag races, and serious bragging rights. Burrum's flat water and open fetch make it one of the best natural speed strips in the country. When the wind drops? We do what wind people have always done. We socialize, share stories, compare gear choices we definitely didn't need, and enjoy everything Burrum has to offer while we wait for the next forecast to light up.
There'll be windsurf and wingfoil lucky door prizes across the week,
If you're not already a member of AWA or an affiliated club your entry fee this year includes a WindWanderers membership, which covers your event insurance and the rest of the 25/26 financial year.
Seven days. One forecast. Endless banter. Lock in 27 April - 3 May 2026.

Thank you to our sponsors Board crazy, Duotone, Fraser Coast Council and Rtm Hervey Bay. The event couldn't go ahead without you.
As part of the lucky draw prize pool supplied by our sponsors, Windwanderers and BoardCrazy have collaborated to offer these boards as part of the draw. the draw is completely random, and all competitors have a chance to win one of these great prizes

Oooo I like windfest!
One of these days I'll get out of rookie division
Seriously rookies, there is no competitiveness at this event, but I feel for you at how badly I'm gonna smoke you all this year ![]()
Windfest is a big highlight of the year for me, thanks to the organisers. Looking forward to meeting more sailors and see the ones I met last time again.
Oooo I like windfest!
One of these days I'll get out of rookie division
So you are deliberately keeping your 2 sec PB under 33 kts (Currently 32.9) just so you can compete in division 3 at Windfest!
That's what I call being competitive![]()
Yep, i've got a auto rookie brake device system
I'll stay a rookie forever at the chance for some speed domination. I am the least competitive sailor i know ![]()
Phsst. I don't care what bracket i'm in. I'm coming one moon early to get some practice, know thy qld wind, and blow my rookie status before event, i'll win!
Burrum is wiNfest, everyone is a winner ![]()
Awesome vid thanks!

Its going to be great!
More Event News #2.
Folks have asked if they have to be at Presentation Night to be able to be part of the Prize Draw, which thanks to our sponsors- Board Crazy, Duotone, RTM and the Windwanderers Club itself, will be an absolute ripper this year ( see the boards earlier in the thread!).
The Prize Draw is open to anyone who is registered for the event and has been up to the event to get on the water for at least one of the days. As in past years, prizes will be allocated by random draw. If you are not there on the night your name is still in the hat!
If you can't be there for Presentation Night, please ask someone who will be there to be your "prize picker" on your behalf.
I can't believe anyone that wouldn't turn up to the prize giving would expect to be in the prize draw.![]()
