Yes LeeD it was. My original issue was with rear straps. Ive managed to sort them. This has highlighted that the fronts also have an issue.. Changing the anti twist plates holes in straps gave a smidge more room. Still not what id like. But without modifing board thats my ONLY option.
Could i make a small plate to pick up 2 screws in board n screw strap to this, therefore make them wider? What thickness plate would be suitable?
ANYONE???

I think a plate that would need to pick up 2 insert holes and then a go anther 20 mm to give you the 160mm hole spacing.
So that would mean the edge of your foot going over the plate and needs to be strong to support you. Maybe 6mm nylon that you can countersink screw heads then 2 stainless bolts for your footstrap.
Or just get some 25mm nylon rod and route those in 30mm deep with a epoxy resin a couple of layers of glass around, next day ground flush and two overlapping glass circles. Next day drill your new insert hole.
You may need to buy some foam grip that you can buy in sheets.

Id put in plugs as above .
Slightly different method .
25 mm hole saw through the top .
Gouge out foam 50mm deep and sideways 15 mm bigger than the hole with a bent coat hanger creating a huge undercut under the laminate .
Doesn't have to be neat .
Fill with 80 - 120kg expanding foam .
Tape off a big area , cos that foam , foams over.
Re holesaw the hole 30mm deep.
Grind a couple small flats on the plug so it cant twist .
I don't wrap the plug .
Then as above , grind off flat and a couple layers of glass on top.
I have done this over 100 times and not one issue , ever .
I also use this method for mast tracks and fin boxes .

Can i use the 4 hole plugs? Chinook etc. Then use same method. Obviously id have to remove entire footpad. Is it possible to get it off without wrecking it? Careful paring n slicing it off board.. Hmm new plug would be pretty close to original. Maybe even hard up against it. Would this be an issue?

I think it would be just fine
I use this method because it makes a much smaller hole than inserting a bigger block of foam . And just as strong , leaving more of the original laminate .
Kinda like key hole surgery . And easy .

If you got expanding foam , it's not much more of a job.
And yes I'd do it for free for beer and prawns

Hi Imax1, great technique, what brand of expanding foam do you use?

I use Dalchem GPF 96
Cost about $35 for two litres , that's about enough to fill a small room !
Tip : As the skin is hardening prick with a large nail to let more foam out otherwise it can build up pressure inside and slightly bulge the board surface . Its not a problem with small plugs but can be on fin boxes and mast tracks.
