I'm looking for a 125ltre Rocket.
Have they changed much over the years? I don't want the wide version.
I think I've found a 2012. Were they any good?
I had a 2008 but sold it.

Hi Sue, I have 2 125ltr tabou rockets an 06 model that has very little shape on the bottom (flat) which I liked to ride then I came across the same board in carbon version 2014 model and it has a very different shape underneath , big concaves towards the front then to vee at the centre and rear very visible and this one I would say I love to ride. Both boards have same diamentions 250x69. I think they changed bottom shape in 2013 but a little googling would tell

Thanks.
So what difference did the more recent ones shape make to the performance and user friendliness?

I feel it's a fair bit smoother to ride over small choppy stuff, also less slapping sounds I reckon.

Yes that bottom shape is far superior to the mid 2000's flatness
It was arguably the reason the rocket became everyone's favourite for fast freeride particularly in open ocean

Ive got a 2014 Rocket.
Super easy to ride, maybe a lil boring on flatwater.
But the concaves n vee carve thru any lumps n bumps easily.
Very sure footed board, had a few catapult instances where the nose concaves grip n drive at that point of no return prevented the catapult from occuring..
Like Wow, how the hell did i stick that ???
I wouldve lost it completely on any other board. Kaboom!
The older flatter Rocket feels more lively
to ride, but doesnt have the same chop eating ability as newer models.

Hi Sue I have the carbon LTD 125 2015-16 model ,big underneath nose concaves and very comfortable in open waters ,
I can use a 8.5 on mine no problem ,the 115 is also worth a look ,it is a bit faster and ok with 7,7 sails ,
hope you find one ,not much about .they still make the 125 rocket ,but I think its 71 instead of 69 like mine ,which I don't think
would be a problem
If you are into a new one I can put you onto a contact .

I won't be using it much so I don't want to buy new.

I'd borrowed a 125ltre Tabou Bullit to help me get back on the water. It did the job although I suspect it's not quite as quick off the mark as a Rocket.
My friend only wanted to sell it as a package with sails but he's decided to sell the board separately so I'm sorted.
Now I just need my 2 torn shoulders and the compressed nerve in my neck to continue to improve and so I can do some focused rehab.

Hey Sue I've had 32 knots on mine ,so if its only a few knots slower due to the extra 1 kg weight your on a winner ,
get into it a easy board to ride and will behave when the wind comes up ,hope you make a full recovery real soon ,keep pushing

i have the full carbon 2016 105 litre rocket and it is my do everything board. You can put race sails on it and its quick in chop or you can put a wave sail on it in 30 knots and bump and jump like a mother trucker. Its probably my most used board and i love it.
