Hi, I'm looking for a 120l freewave board, but they only seem to go up to 115l which is a bit low for me.

I'm 95 kgs and the last time I tried a 116l board it didn't have enough volume for light wind days / doing non-planing stuff.

I'm currently on a Tabou Bullit 125L freeride board, but I'd like something that turns/carves more easily. The front footstraps are far apart and footsteering the board isn't easy.

What are my options ?

Are there any 120L freewave boards?

Are there any freeride/freestyle 120L boards that feel like a freewave board ?

No idea about your budget but have you thought about a custom board?Saying that because I use my freestyle board as a waveboard and that not the best.

Some people here might be more helpful than me. I actually don't know.I'm guessing that it might depends of the material?construction chosen and the shaper.

You may not be after a freewave? Depends what kinda "turning" you are talking about?
Waves:
The advantage to FSW / Freewave is the ability to plane a lot earlier than a waveboard thru a flatter rocker, not just more foam. The downside is they don't turn well on waves.

If you are going out on days that a 120L freewave won't plane, and want to ride waves, get a fat waveboard! A 120L Nuevo or a 118L Goya Quad. Both are designed for float and ride. A 120L FSW is not, it is a "pretty OK on waves freeride board".



Flatwater but you want much easier gybing than a FSW:
Any of those freemoves will be tops but don't expect any to bottom turn (at all)

Would agree with that statement... but the $2000 price limit could be a problem. You might be able to get a shop to discount a 2015 board. You might need to look for a used wave board in that size. They do pop up here from time to time but they sell fast if the price is right.

Thanks Mark that's useful advice. I'd rather be able to bottom turn than plane early. The Nuevo looks good.

I float with 125L but sink with 116L, so 118L may not be enough - I'll have to try it.

Where abouts are you in South Oz ?
Contact Pete Ross from OES if you want a big floaty wave board that actually rides like a wave board.
I got an OES 112lt Hot Rod from Pete last year for light wind wave sailing (I weigh 95kg) and in my opinion it's one of the best big volume wave boards on the market.
Have ridden the Goya 118L but not the Nuevo

GarageSale, I am 100kg and grovel my 118L Goya around in 12-14kn, you'll be right. It's not fun in between waves, but you won't sink
