Looks good, what's the span, surface area and aspect ratio Martin?

Hi John.......this one is 960 sqcm, 90cm span so an AR of around 8.5. We have a second 960 wing design coming with an experimental plan shape and an AR of 10. We will test back to back then decide on the final direction. This one was really nice, what I liked about it was how easy and balanced it was, it was just so much fun.

I see a lot of interesting details! Washed out/twist on the main wing tips. Front wing way out in front of the mast. Lots of taper to the cross section of the fuse. Tiny super high aspect stab with a vertical tail wing! Glad to see someone working on non racing windfoil gear! It must be so fun designing, building and testing that gear! Congrats!

Thanks......yes there is some funky s$%t going on with the foil wings. I have been doing so, so much research into lift distribution and drag reduction my eyes are about to fall out of my head. All I can say though is wait until you see the next wing!!!!

mr love - any thoughts of slightly larger sizes? My fave freeride wing is a mid-aspect around 1100 cm2 (AFS F800/1080) that's just lovely and seems similar to the SAB 799. Or are you finding the drag reduction sufficient to overcome the slightly less area of that class of wings?

Yes we will do other size wings we are just doing 2 different designs this size as it is the size most suited to testing here in Melbourne and for the guys in Capetown. Once we had decided on which design direction we are taking the other sizes will come.
Yes it is using elements of the bell shaped lift distribution studies but I have applied it in quite a unique way and sorry I don't want to detail exactly how its been done. I have been running a stab using this and really, really think there is something in it worth exploring.

The wingfoil uses the same foil wings as the freeride / freemove windfoil...... The Melbourne gang tested it yesterday, had about 7 people try it. It got the thumbs up......"smooth and stable" was the unanimous verdict.
